Blocking and muting accounts

Blocking

When you block someone:

• They cannot view your profile or posts

• They cannot follow you or send you messages

• They are removed from your followers

• They are not notified they have been blocked

How to block

1. Visit their profile

2. Tap the three dots

3. Select Block

4. Confirm

Muting

When you mute someone:

• Their posts disappear from your feed

• They can still see and interact with your content

• They are not notified they have been muted

• You can still see their profile

How to mute

1. Visit their profile or tap the three dots on a post

2. Select Mute

3. Choose to mute Posts, Stories, or both

Managing blocks and mutes

Go to Settings > Privacy > Blocked Accounts or Muted Accounts to review and manage your lists.

Difference between blocking and reporting

Blocking is a personal control — it hides someone from you. Reporting flags content or an account for our Safety team to review. You can do both.
