Deactivation vs. Deletion

Deactivation (Temporary)

• Your profile becomes invisible to other users

• Your data is preserved

• You can reactivate at any time by logging back in

• Posts and messages are hidden but not deleted

Deletion (Permanent)

• All your data is permanently removed

• Your username becomes available to others

• This action cannot be undone

• 30-day grace period before permanent deletion

How to deactivate your account

From the web:

1. Go to Settings > Account

2. Scroll to "Deactivate Account"

3. Click "Deactivate"

4. Enter your password to confirm

5. Select a reason (optional)

6. Click "Yes, Deactivate"

From mobile:

1. Tap your profile picture

2. Go to Settings > Account

3. Tap "Deactivate Account"

4. Enter your password

5. Confirm deactivation

What happens when you deactivate

• Your profile is hidden immediately

• People can't find you in search

• Your posts and comments become invisible

• Your followers won't see your content

• Direct messages you sent remain visible to recipients

Reactivating your account

Simply log in with your email and password. Your account will be fully restored within 24 hours, including:

• All your posts and media

• Your followers and following lists

• Your messages and notifications

• Your settings and preferences
